Regional Cancer Control Baltic Policy Conference

The Regional Cancer Control Baltic Policy Conference was held in Riga, Latvia, on 19 January 2017. Among others, cancer control, cancer screening, and quality of cancer care were discussed. The objective of the meeting was to inform decision makers in the Baltic Sea region about the principal outputs of the CanCon project.


The conference was attended by European leaders and policymakers involved in cancer control and cancer care. Dr Ladislav Dušek presented the CanCon WP6 Comprehensive Cancer Care Network and the first experience from its functioning in practice. Dr Dušek underlined the importance of this new model of comprehensive cancer care and its effects in various areas and levels of health care system, such as clinical practice, legislation, or national cancer control; last but not least, this model will contribute to a better accessibility of modern cancer care for patients.
